CPET activities
September 2008
September was a month of planning and developing information sheets and updating sections on the website. With the policy change coming up we are focusing on raising awareness.
A section on the policy change has been published and we have scheduled and published the dates for this winters upcoming training workshops across the country, read more here and sign up to one near you. We have also added a new page on climate change and illegal logging; have a look at it here.
CPET has now finalised the assessment of the SGS ‘Timber Legality & Traceability Verification (TLTV)’ against the UK Government’s Category B requirements for legality, after SGS provided CPET with further information. CPET is pleased to announce that SGS TLTV meets the UK Governments criteria for legality and requirements to Chain of Custody and can be accepted as evidence of legality. The legality verification schemes section, which also provides information on other legality verification schemes, has been updated accordingly; read more here. The 2008 review of the Category A certification schemes is at its final step and we plan to publish the results shortly.
