CPET activities
May 2007
This month, we finished off our Regional Workshop Series with a trip to Northern Ireland. Closer to home, we were in London presenting at a PEFC seminar for the construction industry at the newly opened Building Centre in London, and at Chatham House meeting to discuss indicators for illegal logging.
Back at the office we’ve been busy setting up the construction sector pilot study, and organising the associated technical review group. Work continues on developing guidance for Category B evidence. We recently provided SmartWood with feedback as part of a consultation period on their new legality standards. These and other similar programmes may in the future provide an important tool for public sector procurers.
Aside from designing and developing the monthly CPET Update, we’ve also updated the news section of the website, and added information on timber procurement policies around the world. We’re currently working on a series of information notes that practitioners will be able to use for quick reference.
