The background and processes used by CPET to evaluate evidence for legality and sustainability of timber. Provision of this information is for transparency, and should not be used by practioners to assess whether they meet the UK Government's policy. Information on how organisations can meet the policy can be found in the 'Meeting requirements' section.

- “Category A” evidence is certification from a scheme that currently meets the UK Government’s requirements.
