Government timber procurement policies around the world
There have been numerous calls for more harmonised national procurement policies for timber, in order to effectively mobilise market forces. In order to address these calls, the UK has actively engaged with other Governments to pursue harmonisation of timber procurement policies. Within Europe, the UK Government has been working closely with the Netherlands and Denmark and is seeking to include other Governments in the discussions.
