Various job opportunities at Proforest

Proforest is looking to recruit a Director and a Programme Manager for the SHARP Partnership as well as an Administrator for our Latin America regional office and a Project Manager for our Southeast Asia regional office.

SHARP Partnership

The Smallholder Acceleration and REDD+ Programme (SHARP) is a new multi-stakeholder partnership which works with the private sector to support sustainable smallholder development. See for more information about SHARP: www.sharp-partnership.org.

Proforest is recruiting for the following positions on behalf of the SHARP Partnership:

Director

This is an exciting oppotunity for an experienced, dynamic and innovative professional to become the first director of the Smallholder Acceleration and REDD+ Programme (SHARP) and to coordinate and further develop the SHARP initiative.

SHARP is an evolving and growing programme to be implemented globally and therefore requires a dynamic and adaptive individual that can manage change, cultural differences and is willing to travel internationally. The candidate will have the responsibility for managing day-to-day activities and operations of SHARP, maintaining relations and exchanging information with SHARP partners, and coordinating and managing teams.

  • Term: Fixed term full time position until end of 2015 (possibility to extend)
  • Start date: July 2013
  • Salary: £ 45,000 - £ 60,000 (commensurate with experience)

Supply Chain Programme Manager

This is exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic professional to work on practical mechanisms to increase the amount of smallholder products in sustainable supply chains. The supply chain programme is part of the Smallholder Acceleration and REDD+ Programme (SHARP).

The position involves coordinating and developing the programme on integrating smallholders into responsible supply chains. The position requires extensive understanding and experinece in supply chain and traceability mechanisms, and sustainability requirements related to agricultural commodity production and how this relates to smallholders. The candidate will be expected to liaise and communicate closely with supply chain companies and representatives of certification standards and initiatives for ensuring alignment with accepted international best practices and goals. The candidate will also be responsible for convening international experts and coordinating the work of subsequent working groups that will be established to implement the various activities within the programme.

Proforest Latin America Regional Office

Proforest has had permanent staff based in Latin America for several years. It is currently setting up an office in Brasília. We are recruiting for the following position:

Office Administrator

The successful candidate will oversee the set up and daily office operations and management of the Proforest Latin America Regional Office. The administrator should be an independent, detail-oriented person with high attention to quality assurance and smooth, effective operations. He/she should be able to develop and oversee effective office systems, policies, and procedures and also organize and carry out all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the regional office. The candidate should be fluent in Portuguese and able to operate in English.

Proforest Souteast Asia Regional Office

Many of Proforest's projects in Southeast Asia are run from our regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This office is recruiting for the following position:

Project Manager

This is an opportunity to take an executive role in the management and delivery of Proforest’s consultancy services in South East Asia, and respond to the rapidly growing demand for Proforest’s services in the area of sustainable forestry and agricultural commodities. The post will involve business development and coordination of the agricultural commodities service area, and managing and/or participating in a range of projects; particularly in relation to sourcing, supply-chain management and investment. This includes providing clients with policy advice, research, training, audits and other services, tailored to their needs. Recent clients include RSPO, Sabah Softwoods, Tetra Pak and WWF. The post will involve international travel, particularly in the SEA region.
