ABN-AMRO sustainable investment support

For ABN AMRO | NL | Europe | 2006 to ongoing

The main outputs of this project were to deliver appropriate training to ABN AMRO Sustainable Business Advisory staff, provide advice to the Group Risk Management Division in the implementation of ABN AMRO’s forestry policy, and the development of a risk management tool for responsible investment in oil palm plantations. This has also included research on specific investments.

HSBC: support for implementation of forest policy

For HSBC holdings plc | GB | Europe | 2008 to ongoing

ProForest has been identified as a support organisation for HSBC clients. This work has also included support for 16 HSBC offices.

Assessment framework for North American banks

For alliance of North American investment banks | US | 2007 to 2009

Joint project with Forest Trends to develop an assessment framework for certification schemes to ensure that bank policies and safeguards are being met. Included assessment of certification schemes, provision of interpretation and guidance.

Support for field test of Dutch timber sustainability requirements

For PWC on behalf of the Government of the Netherlands | NL | 2004 to 2005

Peer review of the field tests of the National Assessment Guideline for the Certification of Sustainable Forest Management and the chain of custody for timber from sustainably managed forests for the Dutch government.

Citigroup forest investment policy

For Citigroup | 2005 to 2005

Provide technical support in revising Citigroup’s anti-illegal logging policy and procedure.

ISEAL Alliance report on managing conflict of interest

For ISEAL | 2004 to 2005

Advised ISEAL Alliance on conflict of interests within certification, based on policy and practice in ISEAL members and IAF.

ISIS Asset Management publication on oil palm

For ISIS Asset Management | 2003 to 2003

An analysis of responses from 27 Isis Asset Management companies about their involvement with oil palm in order to produce a ‘Booklet’ setting out the background to the Oil Palm issue and providing a summary and analysis of the responses received. Prodcued the ISIS booklet "New Risk in old supply chains: where does your oil come from?"
