HCV training for The Nature Conservancy Brazil
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Brazil ran a one week course for its Atlantic Forest and Central Savannas Conservation Program Team and partners on 'Sustainability and Certification of Agricultural Commodities'. This introductory HCV training day, developed to meet the needs of TNC, addressed the role of the HCV concept within relevant agricultural certification standards, provided an overview of HCV assessment and management, described linkages to existing conservation tools and methods, and provided a framework for discussing how the HCV concept can be used to improve conservation outcomes in the context of agriculture and forestry certification in Brazil.
