Course Outline
This 1-day training course will focus on key social requirements contained within current certification initiatives in sustainable natural resource management. Key focus will be on forest managment, sustainable biofuels production and responsible agricultural commodities production.

It will also cover an introduction to methods of gathering information from communities and workers. The course furthermore aims to provide an introduction to other relevant ethical and labour standards.
Outcomes
Participants will be able to understand and interpret key social requirements within sustainable certification of natural resources (ie forests, agricultural commodities and biofuels). They will also be familiar with the common social elements of the standards developed by the multi-stakeholder roundtable processes (palm oil, soy, sugarcane, cotton) and with the key elements of the FPIC-concept and important principles for its correct interpretation and auditing.
