Assistant Finance Manager

Proforest is seeking an enthusiastic team member to support a small but dynamic operations team in all its financial activities.

Position summary

This position is an exciting opportunity to take on a role within the Proforest Malaysia team to support in all its financial activities across the Southeast Asia Region. This is a permanent full-time position and the role of the Asst. Finance Manager is to implement good financial management and accounting practices in line with local and Proforest’s global requirements to ensure that the Proforest SEA regional office has a productive working environment.

 

Responsibilities

Manage all financial and related reporting aspects for Proforest Malaysia: 

Take full ownership of the accounts (including balance sheet and profit and loss account) and maintain the integrity of data within the ledgers.

Take responsibility as required for:

  • The day to day transaction processing of all operational activities, within the Sales, Purchase and Nominal Ledger and the Project module of the Accounting system, including
  • Preparing, reviewing or authorising journals and adjustments
  • Reviewing expense claims to ensure they are ready for processing
  • Reviewing and signing off bank and cash reconciliations
  • Performing Inter-company invoicing (to include the preparation of workings to support the charges and netting
  • Performing or reviewing a variety of accounting reconciliations including petty cash, cash advances to staff and other Balance Sheet accounts
  • Banking and treasury management:

        - Authorise payments and deal with bank queries
        - Manage foreign currency exposure
        - Prepare cashflow forecasts

  • Leading on financial planning, reporting and reviewing

        - Coordinate with budget holders to produce annual planning and cashflow forecast
        - Ensure accurate and timely generation of monthly management accounts
        - Conduct monthly reviews with budget holders to ensure the spending is in accordance with the plan

  • Supporting project managers with project budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, monitoring and reporting
  • Producing and submitting SST Returns
  • Managing year-end audit and co-ordinating statutory reporting
  • Developing, updating and implementing local financial procedures and identifying areas of improvement in existing processes and systems
  • Providing operational oversight and direct support as required
  • Performing other related duties as required
The Proforest UK Finance team will provide support to resolve any discrepancies and issues. 

Essential Qualifications, Experience, Skills

  • Fully qualified or Final Stage with Global recognised accounting body (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • At least two years relevant work experience in this capacity
  • Experience in all aspects of financial accounting including; Systems (SAGE Line 50 or equivalent) and advanced Excel
  • Proven track record on expanding the use of accounting systems and improving and developing reporting within
  • Strong sense of responsibility including high level of accuracy, attention to detail, excellent time-management, problem solving and organisational abilities
  • Highly developed interpersonal and team working skills, as well as a proven ability to operate in a confidential environment
  • Excellent communication skills in a variety of settings (formal/informal, financial and non-financial)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia


Salary

Between MYR 6,000.00 to MYR 7,000.00
