Ekow Nyamekye Tawiah is a GIS and Remote Sensing consultant with expertise in natural resources management to support governments, CSOs and multinationals with production and sourcing agroforestry commodities more sustainably. He has over 5 years of experience in GIS analysis, mapping, remote sensing and spatial data management. He has worked on various projects related to land use planning, deforestation monitoring, biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation in Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Madagascar and other African countries. Key commodities he has been engaged with include oil palm, cocoa, sugar, seaweed, shea and rubber. He holds a master's degree in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation from the University of Twente, Netherlands and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He also has a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies from the University of Cape Coast. He is passionate about applying geospatial technologies to address environmental and social challenges. He is also a licensed Drone/UAS Pilot with the GCAA and a mentor for young GIS professionals.

He is a fast learner, a strong communicator, and a 360 degrees leader who is passionate about making innovative contributions to natural resources management using geospatial science and tech. Ekow likes to cycle, play ping pong or basketball during his free time. He speaks English, French and three Ghanaian languages (Fante, Sefwi and Twi).
