Nicole Jordán Prudencio
Assistant Project Manager
Born in Bolivia, Nicole’s interest in a development model aligned with nature started at a young age, but it was during her master’s program in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge that she discovered her passion for a career in sustainability. Before joining Proforest, Nicole worked for five years at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Bolivia, managing projects on socio-economic development, climate change adaptation and mitigation, urban agriculture and digital transformation, among others. There, she spearheaded the generation of methodologies, activities, and impact-driven knowledge products, in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, to guide decision-makers’ strategies and policies towards sustainability. This experience inspired her to pursue a second master’s degree in Sustainability Science in the Netherlands, to deepen her expertise and further contribute to transformative solutions for global challenges.
Because of her work, Nicole was selected as a Young Global Changer by the Global Solutions Initiative in Berlin and as a fellow for the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens in Vienna in 2020-2021. Since 2018, she has been an invited lecturer for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in International Business, International Relations, and Management of Development Projects at different Bolivian universities. In addition, Nicole has worked as a consultant for international organizations such as UNDP Bolivia and IDEA International Sweden. In her different roles she authored and edited numerous publications and institutional reports, including the 2022 report on Socio-Ecological Transformation and Productive Chains in Bolivia (Spanish original).
