Shinta Puspitasari

Principal Project Manager

Shinta has experience working on various ecological research and environmental sustainability projects, both in the UK and Indonesia. In Indonesia, she helped found the environmental organisation PEKA Indonesia, and has worked closely with the Ministry of Forestry and Environment, local government, local universities and NGOs. She has also worked with rural and urban communities in developing community-based environmental education. In the UK, she supported Oxford University Centre for the Environment (OUCE) in the development of an environmental policy for the illegal wildlife trade in Indonesia.  

Shinta holds a PhD in Environmental Science from University College London (UCL), where her research focused on ecological changes on small tropical islands caused by habitat modification, anthropogenic activities and climate change. Shinta is a Postgraduate Fellow at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS with IBG) and a member of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), the International Biogeography Society (IBS), the Anglo-Indonesian Society, and the Indonesian Entomology Society.
