Zurfatiha Zulkarnain

Fatiha is a practicing conservationist with an academic background in biological and environmental sciences. Prior to Proforest, she worked on the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex landscape in Malaysia as part of a state government organisation. There, she developed an understanding of protected area management, forest and wildlife conservation, protected area management effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and natural resource management.

She has experience in conducting conservation standard assessments and accreditation for protected areas involving engagements with various stakeholders. Fatiha is based in Southeast Asia Office in Kuala Lumpur and speaks English and Bahasa Malaysia. In her free time, she finds joy in rock climbing, hiking, and travelling.
