Director – Multi-stakeholder Initiatives
Bilge has broad international experience, including humanitarian relief in the Middle East (CARITAS); open and distance learning in Senegal (UNESCO); university semesters in Togo and Mexico; and fieldwork in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa. Prior to joining Proforest she worked for standard-setting Ecotourism Australia and was a researcher on sustainable tourism at CENTICA, University of Kent. Her technical work centres on supporting Voluntary Sustainability Standards and facilitating multi-stakeholder processes, such as the RSPO Principles and Criteria Review.
Bilge speaks English, French, Spanish and German. She has a BA in Politics and an MRes in Environment and Development from Lancaster University.
