Silvia Castro Torres
Silvia has an interdisciplinary background in environmental sciences and policy, specialising in the integration of socio-environmental sustainability in production landscapes. She studied MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management at the University of Oxford, and BSc in Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia and UC Berkeley. At the non-profit Banana Link, she worked on labour rights and gender equity in tropical fruit supply chains. She has experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives such as FAO’s World Banana Forum and EUROBAN, and capacity-building strategies for smallholders and trade unions. She has also conducted research on protected area governance in the Canary Islands.
