Newsletter from the Africa Palm Oil Initiative's Edo State, Nigeria, platform

As part of the communications focus for 2020, national platforms from each APOI country have been working on how to highlight their work to a wider audience. The Edo State national platform has just released this newsletter to its target audiences, laying out the principles and actions core to the APOI process, as well as the proposed expansion of the state platform to other states in Nigeria.

It also indicates that the next important piece of work for the platform is the development of a Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) Framework to guide the development of sustainable palm oil in the region whilst ensuring that the rights of local and indigenous communities are upheld.
