Andrea Rey

Andrea brings her on-the-ground experience, interest in the sustainability of agroecological systems and passion for human rights protection to her work. She has a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Studies and a MSc in Climate Studies, the latter from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands, specialising in ecological and agroecological systems. 

Prior to completing her master’s degree, Andrea worked in the Peruvian Amazon, sourcing agroforestry and non-timber forest products such as Brazil nuts for the Peruvian ethical sourcing company Shiwi. She also worked on the Hawaiian islands of O’ahu and Kaua’i, working on the protection of priority watersheds and native forests, for organisations such as The Nature Conservancy. 

Andrea is originally from Peru. She is based in the Netherlands office.
