Lookback to Proforest at London Climate Action Week
Looking back at London Climate Action Week 2025, it was a busy week of over 700 highly-subscribed events showing tackling climate change is still at the forefront of the agenda for London.
While it obviously wasn’t possible for us to be everywhere at once, Proforest participated in and co-hosted a wide range of events across the week with our partners. There were some broad themes we observed, including:
-
It will cost annual investments of $1.1 trillion to transition to sustainable, resilient food production models that secure employment and align with the Paris agreement (Report from WEF and Bain)
-
There is a huge need for capacity building, particularly in the context of investors in nature
-
Financial organisations can mobilise solutions to address climate change, but also need to collaborate with the private sector and organisations with experience and on the ground expertise
-
People want more data, but this shouldn’t delay important decisions. We should ask ourselves, “do I know enough to act now?”
-
Tropical agriculture is not a problem to be solved, but a solution to be scaled
-
Ensuring resilience and adaptation is important but it must not come at the cost of efforts to mitigate climate change
