Proforest expands its Lead Assessor capabilities for HCV and HCS assessments in Africa

Proforest is expanding its cohort of High Conservation Value Network (HCVN) assessors as two members of the Proforest Africa team have qualified as Lead Assessors. Aristotle Boaitey and Stephen Doso Jr had their induction with HCVN earlier in May and have now been set up on the HCVN ALS platform.

In supporting the transition to responsible agricultural commodity production Proforest works on the ground with companies, producers and smallholders. We provide services in the assessment of both HCVs and HCS forest, separately or in combination, at both site and landscape level. We have licensed assessors in Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America and Proforest is a licensed training provider for the HCV Network.

We continue to use and implement the HCV approach in our work through assessments, training and guidance development, to further our mission of agricultural commodity production that delivers positive outcomes for people, nature and climate. We are also supporting the innovation and adaptation of the HCV concept to new contexts, for example, for smallholders and landscapes.

Proforest's team of HCV Licensed Assessors is growing, as more technical staff go through training and qualification, to better enable our work on the ground with local communities in the landscapes where commodities are grown.
