P&G management team get ‘hands-on’ experience with smallholders in Malaysia

The project, implemented by Proforest Malaysia in partnership with the SHARP Secretariat, is part of a smallholder initiative launched by P&G in 2016. Its purpose is to work with independent smallholders to ensure compliance with P&G’s responsible sourcing commitments in its palm oil supply chain. The P&G team was given the opportunity to harvest ripe oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from the farm, load it on the truck, grade the FFB, and observe the operations in the dealer’s collection centre, as well as harvesting pineapples interplanted by smallholders with palm in the early years of the rotation.
