30th - 31st May 2013 in Miami, USA
For the first time, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil has organised an Inter-American Conference with the theme “From Emerging to Thriving: The role of the Americas as leaders in sustainable palm oil”. The conference will be centred around North and Latin America's recent progress in their efforts towards Certified Sustainable Palm Oil sourcing and production. It will be a chance to celebrate progress but also discuss critical regional challenges, including the strengthening of smallholder inclusion and the links between environmental protection and economic development.
On Tuesday 30th May, Proforest's Bilge Daldeniz, Multistakeholder Initiatives Director, will be moderating the panel "Verifying What Matters" with speakers from MapHubs, Control Union, Satelligence and Grupo Hame.
Parallel to the conference, the Palm Oil Collaboration Group's Latin American Chapter will meet in Miami on the 1st of June. This in-person meeting has been organised by AAK, Cargill, Pepsico and Proforest and supported by the RSPO Inter-American Conference.
