Proforest staff attending 16th Annual RSPO Roundtable Conference
RT16 will take place in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia next week 12-15 November where Proforest staff from around the world will join forces with palm oil industry leaders and global NGOs to drive forward discussions on halting deforestation and strengthening peatland protection.
Throughout the week, panels from a range of stakeholders will cover topics such as the strengthening the resilience of smallholder farmers, jurisdictional approaches to delivering sustainable palm oil, responsible consumption and production in emerging markets and sustainability: what drives the industry and consumers?
In addition to Proforest attendance, on Wednesday 14 November Proforest’s International Programme Director Bilge Daldeniz will be delivering a plenary session on the new RSPO Principles and Criteria (P&Cs) resulting from the recent review facilitated by Proforest. During this session, Bilge will outline some of the key features of the new P&Cs, including the restructuring of the P&Cs, the new ‘No Deforestation’ requirement, the integration of the RSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard and the new RSPO Smallholder Standard.
Learn more about the P&C review process in our animation: A global review for a global standard.
Proforest will also have a booth in the exhibition hall where we will be available to answer any questions and offer attendees a range of responsible sourcing and production publications. Please visit us at booth 7.
