Registration Open for RSPO Principles and Lead Auditor Course this August in Ghana

Proforest Africa has over the past decade organised over 20 Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and other tailored training for more than 200 participants. The RSPO Principles and Criteria Lead Auditor course is one of the many trainings Proforest has been organising since 2013.

The 5-day training is designed for auditors who wish to carry out auditing for RSPO producer standard, for company staff in charge of meeting RSPO requirements, and any interested stakeholders (e.g. NGOs, government officials) who want to learn about RSPO standards and systems. The training is conducted in an interactive, experiential and participatory atmosphere.

After the course, participants will have access to Proforest’ online learning platform for free introductory courses and thematic deep-dives training across our work in responsible sourcing and production.

A key component of the course is the mock audit which affords participants the opportunity to audit a mill and provide their findings. The participants also benefit from life-long networks that are established within the learning period”, said James; Project Manager and Lead Instructor for the Proforest Africa RSPO Audit Course.

Some participants for the 2023 RSPO training shared their experiences.

The course fostered an environment of collaborative learning, where we could share our unique perspectives, challenges and best practice. I have applied the knowledge and skills I acquired and contributed to the promotion of sustainable palm oil production and responsible practices within my organisation,” said Prosper Asia; ISO Sustainability Officer of OKOMU Oil Palm Company PLC, Nigeria.

“The tutors were awesome, they had patience with everyone and broke down the technical jargon for us to grasp quickly. I have attended a lot of courses and training programmes, but Proforest’ was the best experience I have had so far in my professional life,” said Ernest Arko Antwi; HSE/ESG Manager of Ghana Oil Palm Development Limited.

“The knowledge I gained has been instrumental in enhancing my audit performance. Delving into the principles and criteria not only broadened my understanding in that area but also empowered me to better align my organisation’s practices with industry standards,” said Winifred Appiah; Technical Service Division, Norpalm Ghana Limited.

The 2024 RSPO P&C Auditor course is scheduled to take place from the 12th -14th August in Takoradi, Ghana.  Registration of the course is open until 31st July.  Click on this link for more details.
