Anna Bexell
Deputy Director – Responsible Sourcing
Anna has 20 years of experience with sustainable commodity production and sourcing within both the private sector and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
As Senior Advisor at UNDP’s Green Commodities Programme, Anna was engaged in setting up the Indonesian Palm Oil Platform, IPOP, with the Indonesian government, as well as supporting coffee programmes in Ethiopia and a national cocoa platform in Ghana.
Prior to joining the UNDP, Anna initiated the sustainable cotton strategy at IKEA, which led to her being closely involved in the creation and development of the Better Cotton Initiative. In addition, her project for sustainable raw materials in IKEA’s candles led to the development of the company's sustainable palm oil strategy.
Before joining IKEA, Anna worked for the Finnish forest products company UPM-Kymmene. She has an MSc in Forestry from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
