Camila Giron

Camila is an Agricultural Engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Palmira, with a Master's degree in Plant Protection from the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo in Mexico with a research line in Integrated Phytosanitary Management. She has been working in the agricultural sector since 2017. Her experience with the Centro de Referencia de Control Biológico de México - CNRCB, the Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical-CIAT and the Centro de Innovación de la Floricultura Colombiana-Ceniflores, have contributed to the development of her roles as technical advisor and researcher, mainly in Sugarcane, Flowers and Tropical Fruit production systems. She has relevant knowledge in Biological Control and Beekeeping Ecotoxicology, hence her passion for insects.

Through her experience in plant protection, she aspires to promote sustainable development in the rural sector, fostering prosperity that harmonizes with the principles of sustainability and respect for nature.

She is a curious person, always in search of new learning, which leads her to read frequently. Her favorite readings include the Harry Potter saga. She considers exercise not only as a physical activity, but also as a mental challenge, so she makes an effort to dedicate at least one hour a day to it. Passionate about baking, she is also a traveling soul who collects moments and experiences in each destination.
