Daphne holds a BSc in Archaeology and an MSc in Bioarchaeology from Durham University. During this, she worked on research into stable isotope bone biochemistry in ancient people, focusing on ancient diets, food procurement, economic systems, and migration.

Following this, Daphne worked in the forensic science sector, gaining experience in interpreting DNA testing, relationship testing, tracking and analysing genetic and performance data, and creating and managing tools to improve forensic processes. She also speaks English, French, and Spanish.
