Darshanaa Chellaiah holds a PhD in Environmental Management from Monash University, bringing over a decade of expertise in sustainable environmental management and ecosystem conservation across Malaysia, Sweden, and Australia. Her work is dedicated to mitigating the impacts of climate and land-use changes on aquatic-terrestrial ecosystems, ensuring long-term resilience through the development and enhancement of nature-based solutions.
With a deep understanding of ecological processes, she has designed and conducted experimental projects to address environmental challenges, collaborating extensively with diverse stakeholders to develop sustainable land-use practices, effectively bridging scientific knowledge with actionable solutions. Her work spans various ecosystems, including freshwater rivers and streams, peatlands, and mangroves, within tropical, sub-tropical, and boreal regions.
