Jayashree Kanniah

Jayashree has over 15 years’ experience in environmental, social and humanitarian initiatives and specialises in forest certification, sustainable livelihood programmes for the poor in the Asia Pacific region and food security issues. She has implemented projects in a broad range of countries in Southeast Asia. Before joining Proforest, Jaya worked with WWF-Malaysia and Forest Sustainability (Malaysia) where she coordinated the development of FSC National Standards for Malaysia. She has considerable experience in facilitating multistakeholder processes.

Jaya is based in Proforest’s Southeast Asia Office in Kuala Lumpur and speaks English, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia and Tamil. She has an MSc in Postharvest Physiology and a BSc in Bioindustry from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
