João Victor Nobre Carrijo

João has an academic background in forest sciences and management, holding a BSc in Forestry, and a MSc in Forest Sciences both from the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil). He carried out research on modelling of forest wood and energy production and has published papers on these subjects in many international journals.

João lived for a year in Vancouver, Canada, as an undergraduate international student in the Faculty of Forestry of the University of British Columbia. During this time, he worked as a summer intern for a Canadian non-profit organization supporting the development of business intelligence reports for the forest sector. Just before joining Proforest, João worked for a consultancy company in Curitiba, Brazil, on planning and execution of projects related to the Amazon rainforest at the state of Pará. He also has professional experience on sales for consumer goods companies.
