Lara Timme
Project Manager
Lara holds a bi-national Master’s in Human Rights from the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice, Italy and NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal. She is particularly interested in business and human rights and developed human and labour rights training/awareness-raising modules for textile supplier factories as part of her thesis work.
Her previous experience mostly includes human rights work in the sustainable clothing industry, working with the Fair Wear Foundation, where she closely followed the drafting process of the EU due diligence legislation and carried out advocacy work to demand an ambitious legal framework. Moreover, Lara has worked with the European External Action Service in Ecuador. In managing bilateral diplomatic relations, she focused on political analysis/ reporting and fostering cooperation on jointly managed human rights projects, many of which concern environmental or land rights, Indigenous Peoples rights and human rights defenders.
In line with her long-standing interest in sustainability topics and working on issues around responsible commodity sourcing, Lara is thrilled to apply a particular human rights lens to this in her current Assistant Project Manager role at Proforest. She speaks German, English, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese.
