Mei-Mei has a background in Economics and a master’s in Anthropology. She has 10 years of experience working on commodity development projects, smallholder financing, agri technology, and private sector engagement in Southeast Asia, West Africa and Latin America. Her expertise is focused on smallholder farmers and sustainable value chain development (esp. palm oil), which she gained through extensive field work in Indonesia. She worked with different organisations, including a Financial Consultancy, Solidaridad, agri-tech company, NBS project developer and conducted various consulting/ research assignments on innovative smallholder financing models. At Proforest, her focus will be on Indonesia, supporting the team with strategy and delivery of landscape projects and linking them to larger scale financing.

Mei-Mei holds a master’s degree in Social Sciences/ Anthropology (Contemporary Asian Studies) for which she conducted research on the supply chain of cocoa in Sulawesi and smallholder production challenges. She speaks Dutch, English, Indonesian and basic Spanish and French.
