Nelson Londoño Gutiérrez

Conservation and Land Use Manager

He holds a degree in biology from the University of Quindío and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a Master's degree in Conservation and Biodiversity Management from the University of Granada (Spain), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Environmental Sciences. He has more than ten years of experience in environmental risk management in mining and energy, ecosystems and endangered species, watershed and landscape planning.

In the last five years, he has focused on sustainable agriculture projects with the Colombian Palm Oil Federation (Fedepalma) and has taught environmental law at the graduate level. Nelson is also a qualified Italian translator.

His favorite hobbies are related to nature, art and literature. He enjoys nature walks, mainly in the mountains, bird watching, and taking care of his garden. He is also passionate about art history, collecting paintings and sculptures, their care and restoration. He often reads a variety of subjects including biographies of naturalists, history and historical novels as well as Latin American literature.
