Rickard Allreke Wählhammar
Assistant Project Manager
Holding two bachelor's, a B.Tech in Biotechnology and a BSc in Politics and Economics, from Lund University, an MSc in Sustainable Development from Utrecht University and an MSc in International Development from Radboud University, Rickard combines his knowledge of technology, ecology and society to tackle complex social and environmental issues through a transdisciplinary systems lens. During his studies, he conducted fieldwork on climate-induced displacement in Bangladesh, worked with a local Tanzanian company to transform coffee husks into briquettes and wrote his dissertation with IFAD on the links between land tenure and the restoration of pastoral landscapes.
Since graduation, Rickard has spent six months in Liberia working on land, forest and resource management for the Swedish Embassy, worked on biodiversity and landscape questions for the Swedish International Development Agency and been a trainee at the European Commission, where he worked in the unit for event management. In his most recent role at a development consultancy firm, he supported agri-SMEs with donor funding and worked on development projects related to sustainable value chains in Jordan and Burkina Faso.
