Silvia Castro Torres

Silvia has an interdisciplinary background in environmental sciences and policy, specialising in the integration of socio-environmental sustainability in production landscapes. She has an MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford, and a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia and UC Berkeley. At the non-profit Banana Link, she worked on labour rights and gender equity in tropical fruit supply chains. She has experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives such as FAO’s World Banana Forum and EUROBAN, and capacity-building strategies for smallholders and trade unions. She has also conducted research on protected area governance in the Canary Islands.
