Sophia holds a Master’s in the CHARM-EU Global Challenges for Sustainability with a specialisation in food systems transformation. Her thesis work relied on multi-stakeholder collaboration of European and Indonesian stakeholders for the Institute for European Environmental Policy to address environmental and social challenges. During her Master's, she conducted field research in France on food system challenges within the region, varying from environmental and social challenges in viniculture to accessibility of fresh produce for marginalised groups. She interned during her Master’s at a global consulting company in CSR, where she worked to develop CSR initiatives benefitting refugees and underserved youth as well as biodiversity. In addition, she has worked on adaptation research specific to the targets of the Global Goal on Adaptation for the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens.
