Taufiq Alimi
Executive Director, Southeast Asia
Taufiq has over two decades of experience working on natural resource management and sustainability certification. His experience includes implementation of sustainability certification, sustainable agrocommodoity management and forest management. He has held several senior leadership positions, including CEO of LEI (Indonesian Ecolabel Institute), Executive Chair of the National Forestry Council, Country Coordinator of the Clinton Climate Initiative-Forestry (under the Clinton Foundation), and most recently as Vice President (country lead) of Rare (a US-based international conservation and development organisation).
Taufiq leads on the development and implementation of Proforest’s projects and programmes in Southeast Asia including supporting both the public and private sector companies with the development and practical implementation of sustainability policies in both the forestry and agriculture commodity production sectors.
Taufiq holds an Engineer Degree on from Department of Nuclear Engineering of the Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. He shifted his focus and continued his study on Environmental Economics at the University of the Philippines at Los Banos. He is a LEAD Fellow of the Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD), and a Shansi Fellow of the Oberlin Sanshi Memorial Association (OSMA), Oberlin College, USA.
