Ibrahim has a bachelor's degree in Forest Management from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. As a forester, he started his career with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia working with smallholders, introducing sustainability within community-based forest enterprises. Prior to Proforest, he worked with one of the largest furniture companies in Indonesia to maintain and strengthen rattan's supply chain as well as to develop its responsible sourcing mechanism. He was also assigned by the Industrial Ministry of Indonesia to be part of the team developing rattan grading rules for the furniture industry. He speaks both Indonesian and English.
