The Sustainability Engagement Platform (SEP) is a digital tool, developed by Proforest, that enables companies to collect, update, visualise, and centralise their data and documents related to responsible sourcing and production commitments in a simple and user-friendly way. It is an ecosystem of services that  provides different functionality to support companies in complying with organisational policies and commitments, as well as meeting the criteria of the current market.

SEP’s toolset optimises the exchange of information between buyers and suppliers by managing the documentation of progress against industry criteria and requirements. This enables companies and supply chains to move towards more effective and transparent management of their sustainability performance, ultimately achieving positive impacts on people, nature and climate.
SEP supports companies through three fundamental phases that align with Proforest's ACRES approach:

1. Data Collection

With the use of this tool, the company identifies and implements sustainability criteria, ensuring effective integration of standards in its operations.

  • Forms: Once the sustainability criteria of interest have been defined and configured, access to standard or customised forms is enabled. These forms are sent automatically to suppliers, allowing for the efficient collection of necessary and updated information.

  • Traceability: The integrated geo-viewer facilitates the recording and visualisation of the origin of raw materials. This system allows for the identification of the specific role of each company within the supply chain, whether as a brand, refinery, or extraction plant.

2. Analysis and prioritisation:

With all the information gathered, different types of analysis are prepared to identify areas of opportunity and plan interventions.

3. Continuous improvement:

During the continuous improvement phase, capacity building occurs through the implementation of action plans based on the company's supply chain. Additionally, SEP Academy provides access to resources and materials that facilitate the implementation of organisational policies and the management of potential supply chain risks.
