At Proforest we’re passionate about helping people produce and source agricultural and forest commodities responsibly. That’s why we support companies throughout supply chains to have positive social and environmental outcomes in the places where commodities are produced.

Our focus

Our work supports agricultural commodity production and sourcing that can deliver positive social and environmental outcomes. This means working with producers and supply chains to have positive impacts for the people and places where commodities are produced.

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (“KLK”) started as a plantation company more than 110 years ago. Plantations (predominantly oil palm) still lead as KLK’s core business activity and the KLK Group has a total of 213,000 hectares of oil palm planted across Malaysia, Indonesia and Liberia.

KLK is committed to creating sustainable stakeholders’ values by integrating environmental and societal concerns into its business strategies and performance. Proforest technical support to KLK is via CORE (The Consortium of Resource Experts, a partnership between Daemeter and Proforest), focusing on the KLK’s operation in Malaysia. The current project is supporting on KLK’s traceability to plantation commitment.
