Demonstrating compliance on HCVs for new oil palm plantation development
Proforest Africa has successfully conducted over 15+ HCV assessments mainly in West and Central Africa, but also in Rwanda in the east and the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar. In 2019 this included an HCV assessment for Presco Plc’s Sakponba concession in the Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the Edo State, Nigeria.
The assessment was conducted in line with the RSPO requirements on HCV and the HCV Resource Network Assessor Licensing Scheme to demonstrate compliance with RSPO’s requirements on HCVs for new oil palm plantation development and assist the company to implement best practices for the management, monitoring and protection of conservation values within the concession under the scope of this assessment.
