Developing practical resources for HCVs management and monitoring

In 2018, Proforest facilitated the development of a practical resource for identifying HCVs in Malaysia: the Malaysian National Interpretation (MYNI) of the Common Guidance for the Identification of HCVs. In 2019 Proforest was once again engaged by the HCV Malaysia Toolkit Steering Committee to facilitate the development of the second guidance document in the HCV Toolkit for Malaysia (https://proforest.net/en/publications/malaysian-ni-hcv-toolkit-web.pdf). The second document is the MYNI for the Management and Monitoring of HCVs and will be specific to the palm oil and forestry sectors. The document will be developed through a multi-stakeholder process including regional and national public consultations in Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia. This project started is scheduled to be completed by February 2021.
