Tharic has more than 15 years of experience in sustainable agriculture working in NGOs and research organizations. He started his career performing audits on farms and agri-food industries in Latin America and Europe. His field experience has been the bases for contributing to the development of international certification and verification systems such as Rainforest Alliance and Nespresso working at Imaflora. There, he has also projected on-farm and national-scale GHG emissions estimates. Besides, Tharic has researched sustainable livestock production to mitigate risks in the supply chain and GHG in landscapes at UFSCar and Wageningen University in Brazil and Ireland.
Tharic has promoted the transition towards agriculture production that value human rights, animal welfare, climate change action, food systems redesign, and forest restoration in a diversity of production contexts, supply chain, and landscapes. He speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
