Our strategy for 2025 - 2030 combines the learning and experience of 25 years with the recognition that we are facing a period of accelerating change and uncertainty. Building on years of taking a values-driven but pragmatic approach, learning what actually works and building trust and leadership. It informs everything we do and the way we operate, as a global network, locally led, reflecting our strong belief in local ownership in all our work.
Strategic Goals: 2025 – 2030
We have identified three strategic goals for our work, each contributing to our mission, using the different ways we work to inform, influence and enact change.
Responsible and resilient producers and supply chains
Building resilience, as well as positive outcomes for both production and supply chains, will be fundamental in addressing the challenges of climate change and geopolitical uncertainty. Achieving this will require innovation and collaboration as there remain huge challenges, in order to align on what is needed to develop, test and deploy effective approaches.
Thriving production landscapes
We need to take a holistic approach to production that integrates people, nature and climate at a landscape scale within the local context. This means building local ownership and focusing on positive outcomes, not just risk avoidance, recognising the reality of trade-offs between different goals.
Regulation, policy & finance supporting positive change
Regulation and finance are big influencers of production and supply chain behaviour. Done well, policy, regulation, finance and investment can drive positive outcomes and support transformation on the ground. This needs alignment to avoid unintended consequences and to move beyond risk avoidance as the main goal.
