Webinar: Practical experience in regenerative agriculture in Spain and beyond
This webinar, organised by the Ethical Trade Forum Spain, took place on 16 April in collaboration with WRAP, bringing together 69 participants to discuss regenerative agriculture.
The session explored what regenerative agriculture means in practice, how impacts can be measured, who bears the costs of transition, and how these efforts can be communicated to consumers. Speakers shared perspectives from research, farming, civil society and the value chain, including examples from Spain’s fruit, lemon and grapefruit sectors.
From Proforest, Maximino Rivas-Rivas and Mariana Aycart shared international experience from our work in Mexico, highlighting how regenerative approaches can support more responsible and resilient agricultural systems when adapted to local realities, producer priorities and supply chain needs.
A key takeaway was that regenerative agriculture cannot be addressed through a single fixed standard. Each project requires a tailored approach, supported by shared knowledge, resources and investment across the value chain.
