Hélio Silva

At Proforest, Hélio works primarily on responsible sourcing and production, supporting the development and implementation of strategies and policies related to People, Nature, and Climate. He leads projects focused on deforestation and conversion, human rights, risk analysis, landscape initiatives, and socio-environmental regulations. He also represents Proforest in technical, multistakeholder forums. 

Before joining Proforest, Hélio worked as a professor and academic researcher, as well as a project manager and consultant in the third sector. He holds a PhD and a Master’s in Geography, along with MBAs in Public Management and Project Management. He has extensive experience in territorial and environmental planning, sustainable development, environmental justice, land and socio-environmental conflicts, and geographic information systems.
