Yerson Cruz
Project Manager, Production and Responsible Sourcing
Yerson is a biologist from El Bosque University (Colombia) and holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Ecology and Nature Conservation from the University of Greifswald (Germany). He has more than five years of experience in environmental projects in tropical ecosystems, with a focus on biodiversity monitoring, spatial and data analysis for decision-making, the identification and management of High Conservation Values (HCV), and working with communities in productive landscapes.
Through his work in the organisation, he contributes to the design and implementation sustainability projects and nature-based solutions in agricultural supply chains, particularly in oil palm and cocoa. He has participated in projects in Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador, supporting companies, producers and other territorial stakeholders in landscape management planning, the identification of environmental and social risks and impacts, and compliance with sustainability standards and biodiversity conservation requirements. His work promotes the adoption of good agricultural practices in high-biodiversity contexts, identifying areas for conservation and sustainable management within production systems, while strengthening climate resilience and ecosystem protection.
