Responsible Finance Specialist – Project Manager | Latin America Regional Office - Brasília

This is an exciting opportunity for a responsible finance specialist to join a global organisation that is working at the forefront of responsible sourcing and production of agricultural commodities around the world. Our 2025–2030 strategy focuses on Thriving Production Landscapes, Responsible & Resilient Supply Chains, and Regulation, Policy & Finance supporting positive change, combining global ambition with local realities and a valuesdriven, pragmatic approach.

You will be part of the Proforest team based in Brasília and will work on increasing and diversifying finance that flows to production landscapes, and accelerating the uptake of responsible investment approaches by financial institutions and supplychain actors. In addition to an expertise as a responsible finance specialist, the ideal candidate will have good knowledge of agricultural commodity production and broader sustainability issues in the agricultural sector. Candidates must be Brazilian or have resident status in Brazil.

About Proforest

Proforest is a not-for-profit group with a global presence that works at all levels of supply chains to build resilient agricultural and forestry supply chains and thriving production landscapes that deliver positive outcomes for people, nature and climate, by working as a trusted technical partner. Proforest has 25-year track record of work with companies, governments, landscapes and civil society, bridging global ambition with local realities, translating sustainability commitments into solutions that are grounded, effective and scalable for agricultural and forest commodities.

While commodities include cattle, soy, sugar, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber and others, the issues we help tackle include deforestation and ecosystem conversion, developing regenerative agriculture, supporting improved livelihoods and land rights and working in landscape initiatives. These interventions have a strong potential and demand for financial mechanisms.

We have a global team of more than 200 highly skilled people from more than 20 countries, working from offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Indonesia, Ghana, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil, where we are expanding and currently have around 25 people. We work collaboratively across regions, exchanging and sharing learnings and connecting through in-person and remote events to ensure teams have a strong sense of belonging to a global team.

Position summary

In this dynamic and exciting new opportunity you will be tasked with providing practical technical expertise and knowledge to a range of consulting and collaboration projects globally, with a focus on Latin America, particularly Brazil. It also includes projects that help develop and align policies on finance for responsible supply chain and production. You will work with colleagues to support financial institutions and companies in the meaningful implementation of responsible finance, including options for ‘greening finance’ as well as ‘finance green’.
