Description

The position is an exciting opportunity to take a technical internship with Proforest, based at our Jakarta office. All applicants are expected to have the necessary rights/permit to intern/work in Indonesia.

The intern will be assigned supervisor(s) to select several topics as part of his/her focus throughout the duration of the internship period. Such topics may include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Support GIS work and analysis of forest and land use change and its impacts on human rights
  • Support on Proforest’s own landscape initiatives
  • Provide translation and proofreading of Proforest reports, guidance, and publications
  • Provide administrative and technical support to on-going Proforest projects and programmes
  • Opportunities for fieldwork and conduct GIS training for Proforest staff

Learning Opportunities

  • General understanding of the production and supply chain of palm oil and other land use commodities such as timber and pulp and paper.
  • Interactions with actors and stakeholders in consultancy settings.
  • Insight and hands-on experience of Proforest’s approaches, work systems, and project management processes.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Education: Final year student or new graduates of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Field of Study: Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Science/Management, Forestry, Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Social Sciences, and related courses.
Language Skills: English, Bahasa Indonesia
Other Skills: MS Office software, GIS software, etc.

Duration: minimum 3 months 

Expected start date: 18 May 2026
