Proforest China supports the 17th China International Grain and Oil Industry Conference in Shanghai
Shanghai, 1-3 July 2026 – Hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA), the 17th China International Cereals & Oils Conference (CCOC17) was concluded successfully in Shanghai. As an official supporting partner of the event, Proforest China took an active part in the flagship national grain and oil industry summit.
Jian Wan, Deputy Programme Director of Proforest China, delivered a keynote speech entitled Supporting green and resilient supply chains during the event. She introduced Proforest’s global mission and local work in China, elaborating on how the organisation supports the implementation of national environmental laws and industrial policies to drive the development of green and resilient supply chains.
In her presentation, Jian Wan showcased a suite of practical tools covering sustainable production and responsible sourcing. The toolkit received positive feedback from government officials in attendance. Numerous participating enterprises recognised the high practical value of Proforest’s solutions and expressed keen interest in further in-depth communication and cooperation.
ACRES is the Proforest approach to Agricultural Commodity Responsible Production and Sourcing that guides companies through five steps.
Open Data for Supply Chain Due Diligence, is designed to support stakeholders to meet global regulatory due‑diligence requirements for forest‑risk commodities. It is an accessible guide exploring open data and digital solutions to decouple commodity supply chains from deforestation risks and tackle key data gaps.
Understanding the First Mile: cocoa, coffee, palm oil and rubber sectors explores the first mile of agricultural commodity supply chains. It focuses on the informal and complex networks that shape this stage, particularly in cocoa, coffee, rubber and palm oil sectors.
The Blueprint for Resilient Landscape Initiatives. The Landscape Blueprint aims to improve alignment and coordination between these many projects - enabling prioritisation, reducing duplication and allowing for true monitoring of impact at scale.
Jian also attended other three events: the Sustainable Palm Oil Partners Dinner co-hosted by CFNA and WWF, the RSPO China Forum host by RSPO, and the Sustainable Palm Oil Outlook, jointly organised by CFNA and WWF. Jian presented Proforest’s BRIDGE programme, supported by FGMC, to key stakeholders from China and palm oil-producing countries.
Against a backdrop of tightening global sustainable trade regulations and rising domestic requirements for low-carbon, deforestation-free supply chains, Proforest’s participation in the conferences strengthens its dialogue channels with domestic grain and oil market players. The organisation will continue to deliver actionable technical support to help Chinese businesses align with both domestic policy requirements and international sustainability standards.
