Érika Monteiro

Principal Project Manager

Érika leads collaborative initiatives that strengthen responsible supply chains and unlock finance for more resilient and forest-positive landscapes in Brazil. She supports companies and multi-stakeholder platforms in implementing sustainability commitments, enhancing supplier engagement practices, and driving collective action—particularly in the cattle sector, landscape level initiatives and responsible finance. Drawing on deep local knowledge and on-the-ground experience, Érika bridges sectoral discussions and solutions, and financial mechanisms that accelerate landscape maturity and long-lasting impacts. Her work is anchored in Proforest’s mission-driven approach, combining strong technical expertise, facilitation skills, and trusted relationships across private sector, civil society, and government actors.

Érika brings over six years of experience in sustainable production and procurement of agricultural commodities. Before joining Proforest, she worked on ecosystem services valuation, cost–benefit analysis of adaptation measures and supporting companies to understand their dependencies and impacts on natural resources. She holds a BSc in Environmental Management from the University of São Paulo and an MSc in Environment and Resource Management from VU Amsterdam. Her academic work resulted in two scientific publications, two excellence academic awards and two scholarships to study abroad. .
